This colorful counter with outdoor seating is the best place to stop for breakfast or brunch. They serve acai bowls with the freshest local fruits, sandwiches, smoothies, and of course... Hawaiian coffee.
Da Crack
2827 Poipu Rd, Koloa
Da Crack is a must try favorite for fresh, high quality take-out Mexican food. We love grabbing a few burritos and taking it to the nearby Baby Beach to eat.
Living Foods Market
2829 Ala Kalanikaumaka St Suite 124, Koloa
Living foods is both a small grocery market AND a cafe / restaurant.The food is clean / organic, locally fresh, and very tasty.We loved their fresh fruit juices.
The Fresh Shave
5356 Koloa Rd Suite C, Koloa
It might look like a barber shop at first, but this shave ice(snow cone) shop is the real deal.Every single one is made with fresh local ingredients and tastes like a tropical dream.Our personal favorites are The Whiskers(Sweet Mint + Lime) and The Fu Man Chu(Strawberry Puree + Banana + Fresh Cream)
Bubba Burgers Poipu

Everyone absolutely has to try Bubba Burger's at some point during a trip to Kauai. It's your classic Hawaiian style burgers and fries and really hits the spot after a day at the beach.
Keoki's Paradise
2360 Kiahuna Plantation Dr, Koloa
This is a great place for a nice lunch, dinner, or even brunch. They have a menu full of hawaiian favorites and the food is fresh and inspired by local farmers, fishermen and ranchers.
Koloa Pizza Kitchen + Bar
5408 Koloa Rd, Koloa
100% the best pizza place in Koloa. It's a great place to dine in or dine out, either way the pizza is incredible. The highlight of the menu for us was the Pesto Pizza (marinara, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, basil pesto)... YUM!
Puka Dog Hawaiian Style Hot Dogs
2100 Hoone Rd, Poipu
Puka Dog is a must try for anyone visiting Kauai. The hot dog is served in a sweet Hawaiian style bun, impaled and toasted, then slathered in a variety of tropical sauces and toppings. They've been featured by the Travel Channel as one of the Top Ten Hot Dog stands in America and leads off Anthony Bourdain’s TV show "No Reservations Hawaii."

Waimea Canyon
Waimea, HI 96796
Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon is a beautiful place to stop and take in the views. There are several lookouts to stop at but our favorite is the Kalalau Lookout.
Red Dirt Waterfall
State Hwy 550, Waimea, HI 96796
This is an awesome place to jump out and hike around for a minute on your way to Waimea Canyon State Park.
Makauwahi Cave Reserve
1571-4 Poipu Rd, Koloa, HI 96756
A short easy (free) hike to this beautiful cave reserve is absolutely worth your time. The hike takes no more than 10 minutes into the cave and was safe and easy with kids.
Spouting Horn Park
Lawai Rd, Koloa, HI 96756
Can't miss seeing this awesome this blowhole shooting water high in the sky! There is a nice parking area and places to sit. We enjoyed getting some take-out and making a lunch of this.
Kilauea Lighthouse & Wildlife Refuge
3580 Kilauea Rd, Kilauea, HI 96754
We loved seeing all the incredible birds and learning about the wildlife refuge. The cliffside views are just stunning. Our favorite birds to see were the Nene Geese trotting about in several places. Make sure to make reservations and check times for the lighthouse before you go.

Sometimes its not just about seeing the sights, sometimes you want to do something fun and unique. Here are some of our favorite experiences on Kauai.
Lydgate Farms Kauai Chocolate

If you are looking for something completely unique you have to stop by Lydgate Farms and do a chocolate tasting and cacao farm tour. You will walk away with a new appreciation for chocolate and a new favorite chocolate bar.
Kauai Plantation Railway
Depot, 3-2087 Kaumualii Hwy, Lihue, HI 96766
Take a 40 minute train tour through the orchards, forests, and farmlands of this 105 acre plantation. We loved learning about the different variety of plants grown on the island and where they originated from. We also loved feeding the pigs!
Blue Hawaiian Helicoptor Tour
3730 Ahukini Rd, Lihue, HI 96766
This is a once in a lifetime experience. Flying next to the Na Pali Coast and seeing the island from above is absolutely breathtaking. The Jurassic Park waterfall was a highlight for us.
Beaches
Kauai is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Here are some of our favorites.
Kiahuna Beach
Kiahuna Beach, Koloa, HI 96756
Ok this one is a given, but we love the beach right in front of our condo. It is a great place to swim, snorkel, surf, and relax. It is fairly hidden from the public and is a great place to watch the sunset.
Poipu Beach

Poipu Beach was named America’s Best Beach by The Travel Channel, ranking top among the 10 “best” beaches selected nationwide. You'll find snorkeling, swimming, a natural ocean wading pool, boogie-boarding and surfing.
Hanalei Bay
4378 Hee Rd, Hanalei, HI 96714
Hanalei Bay is one of the island’s most picturesque areas. The beach stretches nearly 2 miles and is surrounded by huge green mountains and an incredibly charming surf town.
Secret Beach (Kauapea Beach)
2868 Kalihiwai Rd, Kilauea, HI 96754
If you are looking for an adventure and a little bit of a hike, Secret Beach is a beautiful secluded beach with a some incredible views of sea cliffs and the famous Kilauea lighthouse. The hike down is a little steep, but it is short and worth it.
Makua (Tunnels) Beach

If you love to snorkle, this is the beach for you. We saw several sea turtles and a variety of fish, eels, octopuses, and crabs.
